Evaluation

I believe my work could of been to a higher standard in the texture side, although finding it challenging it was one of those things which the more hours you put into making the more it reflected in the final piece, My final 10 consisted of mostly tutorial textures which I found on the internet and followed. The best part of this module was playing around in Photoshop and expanding my knowledge on tools and learning many new skills and techniques which will effect the way i work on other things in the future, being editing for photo's or digital art.

On my textures i believe they could of been better , mostly because the majority where made following an online tutorial while the others where made playing around with techniques made in class. a couple of the tutorial i followed came out pretty badly but I could not figure out what was going wrong . not matter how many times i tried the same outcome came out. I am however proud of my mood board and research , I found it extremely easy to find things i would like to achieve it was just achieving these things which I wanted which I found hard.

Over all i believe 50% of the textures where good and could be used without looking tacky, i believe the others would look a bit too rubbish to be used, But seeing as it was my first time i believe this leaves some room to improve and a specific area which I could focus on to improve. I am not to disappointed with my results.

10 Textures

Easy light brick texture easily tillable and has no obvious tiling effects as its a brick .

Fire effect handy for those little fires or wooden fireplaces i would like to add.

Shiney paint texture

was supposed to look fuzzy and furish, came out a bit similar to the wooden texture no as pleased with its outcome

Dark wood texture

an extremely light leaf texture looks quite nice if made large on large leafs to exaggerate the cells

Marble texture

Metal texture

water texture, Best used as a large texture and not tiled

Photographic Textures

Mood Board

  • Many shades of white/ Beiges
  • Natural textures, Stone Wood
  • Contrast of Leafs on Sandy rocks.
  • Ancient looking
  • Deadish plants

My Street

My streets theme is a slightly ancient and/or Mediterranean building style. The theme behind this will be nature reclaiming  or re growing on it , kinda like abandoned building in time.

A few textures

Cropped a brick , adjusted so it looked flat. Added overlay layers with a white/yellow TO make it more suitable for my street.

Do not plan on using for my street but will be added to my texture library
